What is Rock Steady Boxing?

Rock Steady Boxing enables people with Parkinson’s disease to fight their disease by providing non-contact, boxing-style fitness programs that improve their quality-of-life and sense of efficacy and self-worth.

Studies suggest that intense exercise programs my be “neuro-protective”; actually working to delay the progression of symptoms.

RSB provides encouragement through a “tough love” approach, inspiring maximum effort, speed, strength, balance and flexibility. Boxing works by moving your body in all planes of motion while continuously changing the routines as you progress through the workout.

Pedaling for Parkinson's

Why Pedal?

Research conducted at the Cleveland Clinic showed a 35% reduction in symptoms by the act of pedaling a bicycle at a rapid pace - optimally, 80-90 revolutions per minute.

- Each one-hour exercise session consists of a 10-minute warm-up, a 40-minute main exercise set, and a 10-minute cool-down. Participants ride within their pre-determined heart rate zones and are closely monitored by program facilitators.

- Pedaling is not a cure, but there is compelling evidence that it does make a difference for many.
