Our Legacy, Your Future
About the Jackson YMCA
A Tradition of Excellence
The Jackson YMCA has been serving our community since 1896, growing and adapting to meet the evolving needs of our members. With two locations—our Downtown Facility and the Summit Branch—we provide comprehensive wellness services that cater to all ages and fitness levels.
Board of Directors
The Jackson YMCA Board of Directors is committed to upholding the organization’s long-standing tradition of serving the community since 1896. Under their leadership, the YMCA has continued to grow and evolve, ensuring that our programs and services meet the diverse and changing needs of our members.
Diversity & Inclusion
The Jackson YMCA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to putting Christian principles into practice through programs that promote a healthy Spirit, Mind, and Body for all. Our members, staff, and volunteers come from all walks of life and work together to strengthen the community through three primary areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
For 128 years, the Jackson YMCA has been committed to helping everyone achieve their best physical, mental, and spiritual health. We offer opportunities for engagement to all, regardless of age, gender or gender identity, physical or mental ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, education, location, or income.
Our financial assistance policy ensures that no one is turned away from YMCA programs or services due to an inability to pay. Assistance is made possible through contributions to our Strong Communities campaign, with 100% of funds directly benefiting the community.
We are also dedicated to making our facilities, memberships, and programs accessible to all by providing reasonable accommodations. We welcome service dogs, mobility assistance equipment, and caregivers to participate in activities alongside those they support.
Everyone who upholds the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility is treated equally and has access to the Jackson YMCA. For questions related to access, inclusion, or diversity, please schedule a meeting with our management team.
Ephesians 4:1-3: “Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
